From Arizona to Zurich, Québec Blue Cross guides you on your travels.
Summer days are synonymous for many with well-deserved vacations as they approach. Spring excitement ignites our travel plans, whether they are in another Canadian province, in the United States, or on another continent. Regardless of whether you travel by car, train, bus, or plane, remember that as soon as you leave your province of residence, travel insurance is recommended to protect you from any unforeseen events.
Did you know that Québec Blue Cross travel insurance covers a wide range of summer activities? Whether you are discovering Mexico’s underwater flora and fauna while snorkeling, cycling through France’s scenic roads, or hiking the trails of British Columbia, Québec Blue Cross travel insurance guides and covers you in case of an accident.
High-risk activities are excluded
Detailed coverage information, including limitations and exclusions, is listed in your policy. Please feel free to refer to this document at any time to understand what it entails. Activities not covered by Québec Blue Cross travel insurance generally involve high-risk sports and activities. Among the exclusions are:
- Extreme sports involving stunts, aerobatics, or improvised installations
- Motor sports in the context of competitive or training
- Aerial sports such as hang-gliding, bungee jumping, or skydiving
- Combat sports like karate
- Sports authorizing tackling
- High-risk water sports such as whitewater kayaking or kitesurfing
- High-risk mountain sports such as rock climbing or off-track mountain biking.
Although these activities are excluded from Québec Blue Cross travel insurance, we will support you in case of an emergency resulting from the practice of these activities and provide you with the expertise you require. Costs associated with these interventions will, however, be the responsibility of the traveller.
Québec Blue Cross travel insurance covers most activities
Most activities that we participate in on vacation are included in Québec Blue Cross travel insurance. Surfing lessons? Put on your swimsuit and apply sunscreen - ideally 20 minutes before swimming! Mountain hiking? Lace up your boots and bring plenty of water. Horseback riding? Pat them on the nose for us. Our goal is to make sure you have a wonderful vacation and enjoy the destination you are visiting. To find out if your favourite activity is covered, please see the High-risk sport, activity or behaviour in the Glossary section of our website.
