Virtual health care

1. Eligibility:

The primary insured for individual contracts.

The primary insured, their spouse and their dependent children for family-type contracts.

All persons insured under a Mortgage Plan contract as well as their spouse and dependent children.

Not all contracts provide access to the virtual health care service. Please refer to the list of eligible products available on qc.bluecross.ca/telemedicine. 

2. Activation and duration of membership:

Each eligible person has access to the virtual health care service on the effective date of the benefit on the contract providing eligibility, as long as the benefit giving them access to the service is in force. Access to the service ends on the date on which the benefit providing eligibility ends, or for family-type contracts, on the date on which the person no longer has the status of spouse or dependent child. 

3. Waiver:

Québec Blue Cross makes no express or implied warranty regarding the services offered to insureds or the information transmitted to them concerning the virtual health care service. Therefore, no guarantee will be given by Québec Blue Cross as to the quality of the services rendered under this service. The insured recognizes that Québec Blue Cross acts as a resource for the purposes of reference to third parties and, consequently, waives any liability against Québec Blue Cross as stipulated above. 

4. Applicable laws:

This program is governed by the laws of the province of Quebec and the applicable Canadian federal laws.

5. Protection of personal information:

The provider (the virtual health care platform) manages the use of the service. They are responsible for protecting the personal and medical information you provide to them. Please read the terms of service carefully before agreeing to them. 

6. Data collection:

By using this service, you agree that Québec Blue Cross collects general and anonymous data on the use of the service, while respecting the confidentiality of this information.

7. Service:

Québec Blue Cross reserves the right to modify the terms and conditions allowing access to the virtual health care service or to end this service without notice. The existing medical data on the virtual health care platform will always remain accessible to the client.
